Semaphores indicating “stop” blocking the track ahead

A Time to Reflect

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has brought us (and most of the travel industry) to a “full stop,” an environment not experienced previously in the 40+ years that we have been designing and operating group tours.   As this is written in late June, some travel restrictions are easing and some businesses are reopening, but at the same time, the SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to circulate in the population, and hospitalizations are increasing.

Faced with this reality and that the recommended “social distancing” is not possible in confined spaces such as on tour buses,  we reluctantly accept that this is not the time to resume non-essential travel.   The anxiety of increased risk of infection, having to wear a mask,  and social distance from your fellow traveling companions, we feel would weigh heavily on the enjoyment of the trip.

So for now,  we encourage you to spend time recalling memories from past travels and contemplating new travel adventures when the current crisis passes.
