slightly less usable floor space than the other deluxe bedrooms.
Amtrak considers both room layouts equivalent.
FAMILY ROOM for 2 adults or 2 adults and up to 2
children.
There is one room per car, on the lower level. The room extends
the full width of the car, so there are windows on both sides of the

facilities are located a short distance away on the same level.
Daytime amenities: long sofa, plus two sofa seats which face one
another, with fold-up table. Nighttime amenities: two lower beds,
one 6'4" long by 3'2" wide, and one (for children or small
adults) 4'9" long by 2' wide. Also two upper beds, one
6'2" long by 2' wide, and one (for children or small adults)
4'9" long by 2' wide.
Since there are only 1 or 2 family rooms per
train, Mountain Outin' does not list this type of accommodation in our
travel brochures, though it may be available. Please contact
Mountain Outin' for price and availability.
ACCESSIBLE ROOM for 2
This room is designed to accommodate
travelers with mobility impairments. It is located on the lower
level of the car, and extends the full width of the car, with windows on
both sides of the room. The room has a wash basin and
toilet. Daytime amenities: two sofa seats facing one another, with
fold-up table. Nighttime amenities: lower bed 6'6" long by
2'4" wide, and upper bed 6'2" long by 2' wide. The
seats/beds are the same size and arrangement as in the Roomette, though
the room overall is over twice as spacious. Ample storage space
for luggage. Shower is located nearby on the same level.
Advance sale of this room is restricted to
those with mobility impairments, defined by the courts as "a person
with a physical impairment that substantially limits one or more major
life activities and results in a need for one or more of the access
features of the Accessible Bedrooms on Amtrak rail cars, which include,
among other features, more maneuvering room, grab bars and accessible
restroom facilities." Clients requesting this room may
self-certify that they meet the stated restrictions. It is not
required that the client state the nature of their disability.
Because there is usually only one or two
Accessible Bedrooms per train, Mountain Outin' travel brochures do not
list this type of room, though it may be available. Please contact
Mountain Outin' for fare and availability. |
